Why I Volunteer at the Pride Center:
I have been in the Buffalo gay community for over 14 years, going to gay
bars and clubs and becoming one of Buffalo’s drag queens. I go by the
stage name MISS I C BLUE. I have been volunteering with the GBLT
community for most of those years. When the Pride Center of Western New
Yorkd I had to jump at the chance of volunteering and believe me
working here has it perks such as:
- Meeting new friends
- Community game
nights
- Pride at the Pier
- The Ultimate was
getting to meet the Legendary MISS LADY BUNNY from NYC at the Pride
at the Pier event. She has been my idol for years and I got to talk
to her face to face.
- I also like to help
people out as much as I can.
So these are the reasons why I volunteer here, and
I suggest if you haven’t yet you should hurry up and grab a volunteer
application or a Pride Center of Western New York membership form. Fill
it out and get it to Jaime Seba ASAP or else you’re going to miss out on
all this fun stuff happening right here in the GBLT community. Maybe one
day I will see you here at the Pride Center of Western New York either
as a guest or maybe as a volunteer.
