The Pride Center’s successful Bust Out! Breast Cancer Workshop Series concludes this month with a workshop on Transgender Breast Health on Wednesday, August 11, at 7 p.m. at the Pride Center. All transgender women are invited to learn the basics of breast care, risk factors related to hormone use and other information. Read more.

Sure, you might already be registered, but plenty of people in our communities are not. The Pride Center is gearing up to change that, and we need your help. If you’re interested in volunteering to assist with voter registration drives and voter education, contact the Pride Center at volunteers or register online.

HELP US HELP YOU! Tell Us About Your LGBT-Friendly Health Provider

We need your help! The Pride Center is in the process of developing a Health Resource Guide for the LGBT Communities, thanks to funding from the Western New York Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The guide will provide information on finding a health care provider, as well as listings on LGBT-friendly providers in the area.

Rainbow Seniors Chapter Comes to Buffalo

The Rainbow Seniors of Western New York, which began in Rochester about a year ago, is expanding into Buffalo. The group, for members of the LGBT community age 40 and over, is planning monthly activities. For more information, contact Madeline Davis at 875-9809 or Danny Winter at 881-7234.

Planning for the Future

A.J. di Pota, an independent agent for John Hancock Financial Services, Inc., will be holding a seminar on Tuesday, August 24, at 2 p.m. at the Pride Center.
The informational session is geared toward assisting seniors to plan for their financial future. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get real answers about making plans for the future. All are welcome to attend this event. For more information, e-mail ajdipota

New LGBT Improv Comedy Group Forming

Calling all performers for Buffalo’s new all-gay comedy troupe! It’s Not As Hard As It Looks is seeking members of the LGBT communities to participate in local shows at bars and other venues.
