GayBuffalo.org Donates Domains to Pride Center
Thanks to a generous donation from GayBuffalo website owner Tony Evans, the Pride Center has become Western New York’s online source for events, news and information in the LGBT communities.
Evans, who volunteered his time to run GayBuffalo until earlier this year, turned over the popular domain names GayBuffalo.org and GayBuffalo.net to the Pride Center in early July. Entering either of those addresses now automatically reroutes visitors to www..
“We’re very pleased that Tony saw the value in donating the GayBuffalo domain names to the Pride Center,” Director Jim Ver Steeg said. “We look forward to continuing the long-standing service his site provided through the Pride Center’s virtual community center on the web.”
Use of the Center’s website skyrocketed after the change, with more than 4,800 hits for July. The Pride Center’s new message boards tallied more than 6,000 visitors.
