Lady Bunny to Headline Pride at the Pier
Guest DJs, live music, contests, prizes, food and fun — what more could you want at Pride at the Pier? How about internationally renowned drag performer Lady Bunny presenting her legendary act, and Sirius OutQ radio DJ Derek Hartley emceeing the show!
"One of the most exciting things about this event is that we have two top names in the national queer scene," Pride Center director Jim Ver Steeg said. "With Derek we get a fabulous and funny host who is sure to keep the party going; and with Lady Bunny, she’s not just going to knock the crowd dead with her bawdy act, she’s also going to spin a little to keep the party going on the dance floor."
Lady Bunny, known best as the founder of the Wigstock festival and star of Wigstock: The Movie, will bring her critically acclaimed show to the Festival Grounds at the Pier on August 22 for Pride at the Pier, a big summer bash benefiting the Pride Center of Western New York. The festivities — which include the area’s most popular DJs and performers —- go from noon until 7 p.m., followed by after parties at local bars including the new club Cobalt, Fugazi and Q.
Admission is $15 and includes entertainment, food, beer/soda and more. 21 and over. Tickets are on sale now at the Pride Center and online by clicking the PayPal button (above, right).
