WHAT IS THE PRIDE CENTER LGBT LIBRARY?
It's a collection of hundreds of
LGBT-themed fiction and non-fiction books
donated to the Pride Center by generous members of our communities. The
library, housed at the Pride Center, features topics on LGBT history,
adventure and mystery, photography, memoirs and more.
WHO CAN USE THE LIBRARY?
Everyone! The Pride Center LGBT Library
is completely free andto anyone in the community interested in
borrowing a book. All we need is your name, phone number, address and/or
e-mail address.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's simple. Just come to the Pride
Center during our regular hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through
Friday, and take a look at the library. Make your selection (up to five
books at a time), check them out and enjoy.
CAN I DONATE BOOKS TO THE PRIDE CENTER
LIBRARY?
Of course. Our collection began with a
generous donation from
Gay and Lesbian
Youth Services, and since then dozens of community members have
contributed to it. To make a donation, just bring your books to the
Pride Center during our regular hours (10 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and drop them
off. We are only interested in material that is appropriate for all
ages, so please consider your contribution accordingly.
I DON'T HAVE BOOKS TO DONATE. IS THERE
ANY OTHER WAY I CAN SUPPORT THE LIBRARY?
Absolutely! We need book shelves to
help us store the many donations that we receive. At present time, we
are unable to display our full collection because we don't have the
shelf space. So if you have book shelves you would like to contribute,
let us know!
