Pride Center to Screen First Season of The L Word

The L Word
Thanks to a generous contribution from the producers of The L Word, the Pride Center is pleased to offer a screening of the first season of the hit Showtime series on Tuesday evenings through February.

The final two episodes of the season will be shown on February 15, beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a drawing for the first season DVD. Raffle tickets are $1, benefiting the Pride Center.

The first two episodes will be shown at the Pride Center (18 Trinity Place) on December 7, starting at 7 p.m. One episode will be shown each week leading up to the February 15 finale.

The donation was made to promote the upcoming second season of the show, which begins February 20 on Showtime (check local listings).

The L Word is about a group of young women in Los Angeles, their lives, careers, and romantic relationships. Jenny Schecter (Mia Kirshner) is a gifted young fiction writer who has just graduated from college and arrives in Los Angeles with her boyfriend Tim Haspel (Eric Mabius). Tim and Jenny reside in West Hollywood, next door to Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals) and Tina Kennard (Laurel Holloman). Their network of friends includes Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennnig), the resident heartthrob; Dana Fairbanks (Erin Daniels), a professional tennis player still in the closet; bisexual journalist Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Haley); and Bette's half-sister Kit Porter (Pam Grier), a musician and recovering alcoholic.
